Poor Decisions

I played three sessions on Saturday. I used the starting hands from Small Stakes Hold'em and I think I understand the chart better after playing with it. I didn't make a whole lot of progress during these sessions. I got outplayed a few times. I really need to learn to find and focus on the players that are worse than me.

I started out doing pretty well. After about twenty hands I was up $1.03, but I made some bad calls after the flop on the other hands I stayed in on.

I think I should have folded this one after the river when I did not get an ace to complete the straight. Even then it would have only been good for half the pot, which would have been twice what I contributed. I ended up losing $0.35 during this session.

I played a longer session on Saturday afternoon and again it started out well, but I made some bad decisions after the flop and lost most of my winnings. After about 30 hands I was up almost $1.00.

Again I was looking for an Ace to win this hand. I should have folded after the turn because I did not have the proper pot odds to see the river.

I still ended up winning $0.59 during this second session.

This was the last hand I played this weekend. Quitting after losing this hand was one of my best decisions this weekend.

I lost $1.50 during my third and final session of the weekend. I really need to work on my play post flop, learn how to read opponents better and watch out for tricky players.

I have decided up put Small Stakes Hold'em on the shelf for now and started reading Winning Low Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones.
